How to delete your data from EarthQuake Watcher

📋 Important Information
EarthQuake Watcher does not use user accounts or collect personal information like email addresses. This means all data is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app.

All data is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app. No manual request needed!

🎉 Good News!
Simply uninstalling EarthQuake Watcher from your device will automatically delete all data associated with your app installation.

How to Delete Your Data

Follow these simple steps to completely remove all your data:

Uninstall EarthQuake Watcher from your Android device (long-press the app icon → Uninstall)
Reset your Advertising ID (optional but recommended): Go to Android Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID
Done! All your data has been deleted

What Data Gets Deleted

When you uninstall the app, the following data is automatically deleted:

Firebase Installation ID Deleted immediately upon app uninstall
Firebase Cloud Messaging Token Invalidated immediately upon app uninstall
Local App Data All settings, preferences, and cached data deleted immediately
Notification History All earthquake notification records deleted immediately

Why We Can't Identify Individual Users

EarthQuake Watcher is designed with privacy in mind:

❌ No user accounts - You don't need to sign up or log in
❌ No email collection - We don't ask for your email address
❌ No personal information - We don't collect names, phone numbers, or addresses
✅ Anonymous usage - You can use the app completely anonymously

⚠️ What This Means
Because we don't collect personal information, we cannot identify which device data belongs to which specific user. This is why we cannot process manual deletion requests based on email addresses. However, this also means your privacy is better protected!

Resetting Your Advertising ID

The Advertising ID is controlled by Google, not by us. You can reset it yourself:

Open Settings on your Android device
Go to Google → Ads
Tap "Reset advertising ID"

You can also opt out of personalized ads:

• Go to Settings → Google → Ads
• Enable "Opt out of Ads Personalization"

Data Retention Period

After you uninstall the app:

📅 Firebase Installation ID: Deleted immediately
📅 FCM Token: Invalidated immediately
📅 Local Data: Deleted immediately
📅 Aggregated Analytics: Retained for up to 90 days (anonymized, cannot be linked to you)
📅 Crash Reports: Retained for up to 90 days (anonymized, cannot be linked to you)

After 90 days, all data is permanently deleted from our systems and backups.
